21-year-old man arrested after domestic incident – standoff in Fond du Lac

A 21 year old man is in custody after an hours long stand-off in Fond du Lac Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Shortly before 9 a.m., Fond du Lac Police were made aware of a domestic abuse situation in the city after photos of injuries sustained in an attack were shared with them.

Officers performed a check welfare at an address near the intersection of Salem Avenue and Hickory Street.

After officers confirmed the victim was removed from the scene, they set up a perimeter around the residence as they contemplated their attempt to take the man into custody. At the time there was no known concern of weapons, however there was information obtained the suspect was in the house with at least one child.

Officers remained on scene until shortly before 11 a.m. when a warrant was obtained to enter the house. At that time, officers were able to take the man into custody without incident.

He is being held at the Fond du Lac County jail on charges of Physical abuse of a child, False imprisonment and Disorderly conduct.
