2nd Stolen Vehicle Chase In Two Days Results In Rollover/Arrest

A second stolen vehicle chase in as many days results in a rollover and an arrest. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies received a call Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 11:08pm, for a report of a stolen vehicle traveling south on Interstate 41 near Hwy 26 in Winnebago County.  The vehicle had previously fled from an attempted traffic stop by law enforcement in Winnebago County.

Deputies located the vehicle in Fond du Lac County, still traveling south near Cty N in the Township of Eldorado.  Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, which failed to yield and continued southbound.  The vehicle exited the Interstate at Cty OO but lost control on the off-ramp.  The vehicle crashed after leaving the roadway and overturned, pinning the operator inside.  Deputies quickly responded in giving aid, with the driver of the vehicle being extricated by responding fire department personnel.  The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was identified as an 18 year-old female from the Milwaukee area.  She was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female operator is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail for a charge of Felony Eluding.  She also faces numerous traffic related citations. The pursuit spanned a total of approximately 4 miles. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the incident by the Wisconsin State Patrol, North Fond du Lac Police Department, and the North Fond du Lac Fire/EMS Services.
