33-year-old Waupun man “engaged” to 15-year-old girl, arrested for sexual assault of a child

A 33-year-old Waupun man is in police custody on suspicion of sexual assault of a child.

According to a press releases from the Waupun Police Department, information was learned by the department that the man was alleged to be involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female from Rubicon, in Dodge County.

Through an investigation, Waupun Police Lieutenant Bobby Williams discovered that the suspect was allegedly grooming the victim.

Several warrants were approved by a Dodge County Circuit Court judge for electronic data and communications involving both the suspect and victim, and on February 17, 2025, both were contacted at the victim’s residence in rural Dodge County.

Lieutenant Williams questioned both the suspect and victim, and it was learned that sexual contact occurred more than once between the two, and that they were alleged to be engaged to be married without the consent of the victim’s parents.

Believing a crime had occurred, the suspect was arrested on scene and booked into the Dodge County Jail for charges including 2nd degree sexual assault of a child. Formal charges of sexual assault and enticement of a child have yet to be handed down while the suspect remains in jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
