34 Mile Pursuit Through Multiple Counties Ends In Arrests And Thousands Of Dollars Of Stolen Goods

Two Milwaukee area women were taken into Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office custody after they went on a crime spree this weekend.

The women were wanted for shoplifting in the Plover area on Saturday and it was discovered the vehicle they were in was listed as stolen out of Illinois.

Officers in Waupaca County saw the vehicle and attempted to pull it over but the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued on Highway 10 eastbound. Waupaca County terminated the pursuit when the vehicle reached the Winnebago County line, but radioed ahead to both Winnebago and Fond du Lac County, as it was anticipated the women would continue that direction towards Milwaukee.

At around 9 PM, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy watching 41 for the vehicle spotted it heading southbound. The officer activated his squads lights and siren, and the vehicle again attempted to elude the officer.

Multiple squads were involved in the chase and north of County Highway B, a Fond du Lac County Deputy deployed tire deflation devices which were effective on the suspect vehicle, but unfortunately, two pursuing squad cars as well as two civilian vehicles also hit the devices and received damage to their vehicles in the form of flat tires.

The vehicle continued southbound on 41 through Dodge County and into Washington County at a high rate of speed eventually riding on the rims of the front two wheels.

With sparks showering out from the vehicle, the driver lost control south of State Highway 33 and crashed into the center median cable barrier.

Both occupants were taken into custody without incident. Inside the vehicle, officers located thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise along with illegal narcotics. The driver was identified as a 37-year-old woman from Milwaukee who was out on a $1500.00 signature bond through Waukesha County for Felony Retail Theft – Repeater.
She now faces additional charges including eluding an officer, Operate vehicle without Owners Consent, Felony Retail Theft and Felony Bail Jumping. The passenger, a 31-year-old woman from Wauwatosa has been charged with Felony Retail Theft, Possession of THC, Cocaine, Fentanyl and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescription drugs. She is currently out on probation for Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Resisting/Obstructing an officer and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.

The pursuit covered a distance of about 34 miles.
