54,000 Fentanyl Pills Seized In Record Drug Bust In Appleton

An estimated 54,000 suspected fentanyl pills have been seized in what The Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group is calling their largest seizure of fentanyl in the drug unit’s history.

The seizure occurred this week as drug agents in the Fox Valley and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a search warrant on a home in Appleton.

The 12 pounds of pills have an estimated street value over $500,000.

Two people in the home were arrested and a gun was also seized.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul reacted to news of the drug seizure, saying “Fentanyl is incredibly dangerous and has fueled the recent rise in overdose deaths in Wisconsin… Thanks to the hard work of law enforcement on the local, state, and federal level, approximately 12 pounds of this deadly narcotic is
off the streets.”
