72-year-old man injured after being struck while riding bicycle

A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday night, September 7, 2026, in Dodge County.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 7:10 Monday night on County Road I in the Town of Portland.

Investigators say a 46-year-old Waterloo woman was driving south on County Road I when she struck a southbound bicycle ridden by a 72-year-old Waterloo man.

The bicyclist was injured and taken by Waterloo EMS to UW Hospital in Madison. The sheriff’s office says he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
