Waupun High School Senior Awarded Scholarship

A Waupun High School Student is one of four Wisconsin high school senior students awarded scholarships as part of the Cousin’s Subs Make It Better Foundation 10th annual Wisconsin Sports Award Scholarship Contest.

According to Cousin’s Subs, Naomi Aalsma was selected as a finalist due to her ability to excel academically while being a three-sport athlete and dedicated community volunteer.

In high school, Aalsma maintained her spot on the High Honor Roll all four years, as well as numerous varsity letters, All-Conference recognition and she served as Team Captain for nearly every sport she was involved in.

Aalsma is the second-place winner of a $2,500 Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship.

“This scholarship means so much to me because it helps me remember the importance of working hard in everything that I do,” she said. “I’ve learned that all you have control over are your effort and attitude – if you have a positive attitude and give your best effort, you can achieve success.”

The scholarships are funded by the fast food restaurant’s Make It Better Foundation – A nonprofit organization that addresses the vital community needs of health and wellness, hunger and youth education.

To date, the organization has awarded more than $182,000 in scholarships to 41 high school students.
