FDL Salvation Army Kettles to Redeploy on Christmas Eve for Final Fundraising Push

The Salvation Army remains encouraged by the support that continues to pour in from the community as the Fond du Lac Kettles struggle to meet its goal. The Corps officers plan to put the kettles out for their final appearance 10 am to 4 pm Christmas Eve and pray for a Christmas Eve miracle.

Severe weather suspended kettles in Fond du Lac Thurs and Friday, severely crippling the Christmas Campaign. “It’s during the last days of the kettle season that we raise the majority of our campaign goal, every penny of which is necessary to keep us serving,” Captain Christina Champlin explains.

The money is needed for The Salvation Army to continue its work as one of The Fond du Lac County’s most trusted helping hands.

To help The Salvation Army kettles make it’s $225,000 goal, a host of community members have launched a “Miracle On Christmas Eve” $73,000 Kettle MATCH.

“When times are tough and there’s no “fall back finances,” our door is open. We extend the kindness and compassion that pulls people through,” Captain Christina summarizes the heart of service. Kettle Campaign funds operating costs and fuel Fond du Lac County’s largest food pantry and summer Brown Bag Lunch giveaway; the County’s only winter warming shelter; free youth programs and summer camps; Fond du Lac’s oldest Christmas toy, food and gift outreach.
