New Department K9 Hitting The Ground Running With Drug Bust

A new Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office K9 , still in training is getting a jump on proving itself to be a worthy addition to the department.

Early Friday morning, K9 officer Iro and their handler conducted a traffic stop on Lakeshore Drive north of Fond du Lac.

The deputy observed evidence of drug use inside the vehicle and had Iro do a sniff around the perimeter of the vehicle.

After positively alerting for the presence of drugs, a search of the vehicle resulted in 25 grams of cocaine which was disguised as medicine in the form of pills, fentanyl and other forms of illegal drug paraphernalia.

In addition, a female occupant of the vehicle had drugs found on her when she was inspected at the jail.

Both the female and a male occupant of the vehicle were arrested on multiple drug charges and both had prior drug related convictions on their records.
