Fond du Lac High School announces new track and field head coach

The Fond du Lac High School Cardinals Athletic Department announced yesterday that Kyle Jefferson will be the 2023-24 school year head track and field coach.

While Jefferson is new to the Fond du Lac High School, he isn’t new to coaching kids in Fond du Lac. Jefferson has been the head track coach at St. Mary’s Springs Academy where he was also an assistant football coach since 2017.

Jefferson, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in 2012, will oversee both the boys’ and girls’ track programs.

During his time at Wisconsin, he excelled in both track and field and football. He was a letter winner from 2008 to 2012 and secured the Big 10 championship in track in 2012. Moreover, he earned a letter from 2007 to 2011 and clinched the Big 10 championship in football in 2010.

“I am excited about the opportunity to come to Fond du Lac High School and help those young men and women reach new heights on and off the track,” said Jefferson. “Let’s Fly Cardinals and Let’s Rock!”

Fond du Lac High School says they are pleased to have Coach Jefferson at the helm of the Cardinals’ track and field program. “As a former First-Team All-Big 10 member, his extensive background in track and field, along with coaching experience, will be a valuable asset to our student-athletes participating in the spring season. We eagerly anticipate the positive influence Coach Jefferson will have on the Cardinal student-athletes, both in competition and in their lives.”
