Walter owned a farm in Mason, WI before moving his family to Fond du Lac, in 1978. He bought a semi and drove truck for many years and then went on to work for Oshkosh Truck for 21 years before he retired.

Wally loved his Friday morning breakfast with his sons, he loved his Sunday morning phone calls with his daughter and grandchildren. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and got into every walleye fishing tournament he could. He also enjoyed his trips to Lake Erie with his friends. Attending his grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events meant the world to him. He loved the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.
