Hit and run crash on 151 seriously injures motorcyclist

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol are investigating a hit and run crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist Friday afternoon, September 27, 2024.

At 1:45 PM. the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received several calls reporting the crash in the southbound lanes of 151 at Martin Road. It was also reported the motorcyclist was laying unconscious in the roadway.

A witness stated that the offending vehicle continued south on 151 from the scene and gave the description of a maroon vehicle with Oklahoma plates.

According to a press release, witnesses stated the maroon SUV cut off the motorcycle, causing the driver to crash into the rear of the vehicle, sending the motorcyclist to be thrown from the bike.

Police were utilizing Flock cameras to attempt to locate the suspect vehicle and at 2:40 PM, an officer with the sheriff’s office found the suspect vehicle and was investigating who the driver was.

The victim was transported to SSM Health St Agnes Hospital by City of Fond du Lac Rescue where they met up with ThedaStar medical helicopter.
