Tyler “Ty” Lavey

Tyler “Ty” Lavey, 61, passed away on October 3, 2024 at Hospice Home of Hope, surrounded by his family and friends, after a brave, hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born to the late DuWayne and Ellen Jean (nee Gerhartz) Lavey in Fond du Lac.

While Tyler held the title of Buyer at Holiday, he was so much more. He was a friend, mentor, helper and full of wisdom. Growing up around his father’s dealership, Ty dedicated his entire life to the car business. He mastered all aspects of the business and generously shared his extensive knowledge with many of us.

Ty was the ultimate professional, always embodying the qualities of a gentleman. Immaculately dressed in a pressed shirt, he carried himself with integrity, setting a standard for professionalism. As we celebrate his life, let us remember the invaluable lessons he taught us and positive impact he made on us. Ty will be sadly missed by all of us. May he rest in peace.

Tyler is survived by his significant other, Jenny Gehrke, who he also called “Huny,” three brothers, Tom (Barb), Tim (Cheryl) and Todd (Julie), nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

SERVICES: Ty’s family invites relatives and friends for a time of visitation at 9:00 a.m. Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac, on Saturday, November 16, 2024. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends gratitude to the SSM Health Hospice for their care of Ty, the Holiday Automotive family for their understanding and concern for Ty, and to Tyler’s close friends, Chris Schrage, Michael Durbin and Mary Costello for also becoming caretakers in Ty’s final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Ty’s name to a veteran’s organization of your choosing or to Hospice Home of Hope.
