Agriculture Deputy Secretary Torres Small to Visit Wisconsin

Wednesday, October 30, 2024, U.S. Agriculture Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small will travel to Manitowoc, Wisconsin where she will visit a local fertilizer production facility and announce a major investment that will help producers and small businesses in rural communities in Wisconsin and nationwide create additional income opportunities, modernize equipment, and adopt new technologies. The announcement will increase competition and help lower costs for producers and consumers alike.

Later in the afternoon, Deputy Secretary Torres Small will tour a local meat processing facility in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. There, she will highlight recent investments to increase competition, create jobs in rural areas, and expand market access for producers. The Deputy Secretary will also highlight ways in which the Biden-Harris Administration is continuing to strengthen rural America by building the economy from the middle out and bottom up to promote fair and competitive markets for rural families, small businesses, and farmers to build a good life in the communities that they love.
