Fire Department called to assist in getting stuck horse out of mud

Members of the Cascade Fire Department in Sheboygan County had a dirty situation to unravel Sunday, March 23, 2025.
A horse at an address on County Road NN just south of the village had gotten stuck in some mud and was unable to get out. The horses owner called the Sheboygan County Communications Center who then dispatched the fire department.
It took members just over an hour to devise a plan and get the horse out, but then concern was turned to the horses health and if the ordeal had injured it. A call was placed to a large animal vet clinic to see if a vet could make a house call to examine the horse. It’s unknown who was contacted and if the horse was found to be injured or not.
