Search resumes for assumed drowned teen boy in Sheboygan park

Authorities in Sheboygan went from rescue mode to recovery mode yesterday, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, after a teenage boy went under water and failed to resurface in Jaycee Quarry Park on the city’s northwest side.
According to the Sheboygan Fire Department, the 13-year-old was swimming with friends when he went under around 2 p.m.
Divers searched in teams of eight for hours before calling the rescue off and turned it into a recovery effort. Assistance was also requested from The Milwaukee Fire Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
The search was suspended at nightfall and officials say they will start again Wednesday morning.
The park is closed Wednesday while search efforts resume and officials ask the public stay away until further notice.
