Plymouth High School teacher formally charged in Fond du Lac County for having sexual relations with a student

The Plymouth High School Teacher that was arrested in Fond du Lac County for having sexual relations with a student has been formally charged.
42-year-old Marcie Zimmerman of St Cloud is facing charges of Sexual Assault of Student by School Staff, Sexual Intercourse with a Child 16 or Older and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.
The charges stem from incidents back in 2023 when the student was 17-years-old. At that time Zimmerman was a culinary arts teacher at Plymouth High School and gained the trust of the female student during a time she had mental health struggles.
According to the criminal complaint in the matter, Zimmerman and the girl developed a relationship where they would text and talk at school and outside of school. Investigation showed the relationship first turned sexual in nature during phone conversations and then turning to in person sexual contacts in the following months.
It was learned the victims mother grew suspicious of the actions taking place and brought her concerns to the school district, though she says Zimmerman remained employed at the school, placing a no contact rule between Zimmerman and the girl. Despite the no contact in place, Zimmerman never stopped contacting the student.
The victim told police she tried to end things with Zimmerman but stated Zimmerman would
make suicidal comments, or comments about how she would make the relationship public knowledge and ruin both their reputations.
At that point the victim told Zimmerman to never contact her again, but she would continue to show up at her workplace to try and talk to her.
Cash bond was set for Zimmerman at $250,000 and she is due back in court October 21, for a Preliminary Hearing.
