Patrick G. “Pat” Venet

Patrick G. “Pat” Venet was born on October 4, 1964, in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of the late Michael S. and Loretta (née Krist) Venet. He grew up in Waukegan and graduated from Waukegan West High School, Class of 1982. Throughout his career, Pat worked as a maintenance technician and regional sales manager for various laundry and textile companies until his retirement. 

When he wasn’t working or traveling, Pat enjoyed cooking, golfing, trapshooting, and fishing on Lake Winnebago in Fond du Lac, WI. His greatest pride and joy, however, were his sons Colin Patrick and Alec Patrick Venet. A loving father and friend, Pat will always be remembered for his contagious laugh, witty sense of humor, and his ability to make the biggest mess in any kitchen he stepped into while preparing one of his gourmet meals. He passed on his love for cooking — and all his secrets — to his boys, who will forever enjoy making meals with their Dad’s spirit close at heart. 

Patrick passed away peacefully at his lake home on October 28, 2025, at the age of 61. 

He is survived by his two sons, Colin and Alec; his brother Mike; nephews Michael and Kyle; and is fondly remembered by many other relatives and friends, including his dear friend Mr Rick. A special thank-you to Pat’s lake house neighbors for their help and support. 

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
