Dennis Sullivan

Dennis Sullivan, 70, passed away peacefully at Hospice Home of Hope on April 3, 2026, in Fond du Lac, WI. He was born on April 16, 1955, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late George and Lois (Grube) Sullivan.
Dennis graduated from Goodrich High School in 1973 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from UW–Eau Claire. He later furthered his education by earning a Master’s Degree in Special Education.
A lifelong athlete, Dennis played basketball in high school, in college, and later at the Y. He loved golf and traveling, and he especially treasured taking each of his children on special one‑on‑one trips. Throughout his life, Dennis lived in many parts of the country and immersed himself in every community he called home. He was a personable man with a gift for striking up a conversation with anyone.
After retiring from the post office, Dennis discovered his true calling in special education. He often referred to his students as “my kids.” Dennis went far beyond his classroom responsibilities, always looking out for students who needed extra guidance and support that they might not be receiving at home. He believed with all his heart that every child was, indeed, special.
Dennis is survived by his children, Robert L. Sullivan, Caitlin Sullivan (Alex Jameson), and Samantha Sullivan; his grandchild, Henry Sullivan Jameson; his brothers, Robert D. Sullivan, Richard (Loretta) Sullivan, and Daniel Sullivan; his sister, Krys Castrodale; his special friend, Jean Schaefer; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his sisters, Joy Erickson and Kathy Mertens.
