5K run will take place amongst variety of aircraft at AirVenture walk/run

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (April 14, 2026) — Runners and walkers alike can get a taste of the EAA AirVenture grounds on Saturday, July 25, as the annual Runway 5k takes athletes on a journey through the grounds. The race begins at 6:30 a.m. near the South Knapp Admissions gate, just south of the ultralight runway, and is open to everyone, including walkers, first-time runners, and seasoned athletes.

This year’s route is different from the 2025 race. Participants will start on Blue Sky Avenue, just south of the Ultralight runway. The course will take participants north on Wittman Road past Boeing Plaza, and return south on Knapp Street, passing by the control tower, EAA Four Corners, and Theater in the Woods on the way back to the start/finish line.

Attendees do not need AirVenture admission to participate in the race but do have the opportunity to purchase discounted July 25 admission tickets. Free parking is available in J Lot on the morning of the race.

Standard registration is open online until July 24. Individuals may also register the day of the race, July 25. The registration includes an official event T-shirt, post-race food, refreshments, and access to shower facilities.

The Runway 5K is presented by Covington Aircraft, with awards courtesy of Blackhawk, post-refreshments courtesy of Scheels, and additional support from 96.9 The Fox, and 103.9 WVBO. Proceeds from this year’s run benefit the Oshkosh Firefighters Charitable Trust.
