Fond du Lac County jail gets new Captain/Jail Administrator

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt is honored to announce the promotion of Tyler Broderick to Captain/Jail Administrator.

In his new role, Captain Broderick will oversee the operations of the jail division, with a continued emphasis on safety, security, and inmate programs.

Captain Broderick has served as Assistant Jail Administrator from 2019 to present, leading daily jail operations, policy implementation, and other administrative functions. He began his career with the Sheriff’s Office Jail Division in 2006 as a correctional officer on both 2nd and 3rd shifts.

He was promoted to Sergeant in 2013, supervising 3rd shift, and to Staff Sergeant in August 2016, where his primary responsibilities included overseeing the Huber/Electronic Monitoring Division. In addition to his jail leadership duties, he is a member of the Deputy Reserve Unit.

Captain Broderick holds an associate degree in Police Science from Fox Valley Technical College, and brings extensive field experience and a track record of strategic leadership to his current role. His dedication to public safety and his leadership across multiple jail divisions will further enhance our ability to serve the community.

Captain Broderick succeeds the prior Jail Administrator, Jim Borgen, who accepted a position with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as an Office of Detention Facilities Specialist.

The Sheriff’s Office wishes him the best of luck in his new role and thanks him for his 24 years of service to Fond du Lac County!
