Tractor destroyed by fire at Fond du Lac County farm

A piece of farm equipment on fire in southeast Fond du Lac County Wednesday, May 27, 2026, drew the response of the Lomira Fire Department.

Just before 9 p.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a farm tractor fire at Clover Hill Dairy, at W4306 Cloverland Drive, in the Town of Ashford.

A deputy with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene and observed a John Deere tractor fully engulfed in flames on top of a haylage bunker.

Despite being located in Fond du Lac County, the area is in the Lomira Fire Department district, and they were paged to the scene.

The tractor, which was made between 2012 and 2014, and sold new for over $300,000, was determined to be a total loss. The haylage and bunker the tractor was on sustained minor damage.

The fire is not considered suspicious.
