House saved from fire near Waupun

At 12:34 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, Waupun Fire crews responded to N4134 West Center Road in the Town of Waupun for a reported house fire. Upon arrival, crews found the homeowners working on putting out a fire on the back side of the home.

First-arriving crews took over opening up the exterior walls and finished putting out hot spots and continued checking for fire extension. Personnel remained on scene for approximately one hour conducting fire suppression and overhaul operations.

There are no initial damage estimates at this time; however, damage to the home was largely confined to the exterior. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians reported during the incident.

The cause of the fire was extension from a burning process that was done earlier in the day.

The Waupun Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Brandon-Fairwater Fire Department, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, Lifestar EMS, and the Fond du Lac County Communications Center.
