One killed in semi vs car crash on Highway 23 in Sheboygan County

The eastbound lanes of Highway 23 just into Sheboygan County were closed for several hours Sunday night, June 7, 2026, while officials investigated a crash.

Just before 10 p.m., reports started coming into the Sheboygan County Communications Center of a crash involving a semi on 23, at Scenic View Road.

On scene, deputies found a car and semi had crashed, with both vehicles being off the road and the semi trailer tipped over, partially on top of the car.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver of the car was southbound on scenic view and pulled into the path of the eastbound semi. The driver and sole occupant of the car was deceased at the scene. All three people in the semi had non life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

The trailer of the truck was reportedly full of bananas at the time of the crash.

The eastbound lanes were closed at Scenic View until 3:30 Monday morning when the left lane was opened back up with the right lane still being closed.

Investigators continue to look into what led up to the crash.
