Oshkosh-based paper plate maker to add 100 manufacturing jobs in Clintonville

Tableware manufacturer Hoffmaster Group is expanding, with plans to add 100 jobs in rural Clintonville.

The Fox Valley-based company is planning a $65 million expansion of its manufacturing plant there, expected to create more than 100 manufacturing jobs.

To support the project, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. authorized up to $1 million in state tax credits over the next three years. The amount of credits Hoffmaster will receive will be based on the number of jobs created and the company’s capital investment.

In a statement, Hoffmaster CEO Craig Cappel called the expansion “an exciting step forward” for the company.

“We’re proud to expand our manufacturing footprint in Wisconsin,” he said. “This investment allows us to better support our customers, create new opportunities for our team members, and contribute to economic growth across Northeast Wisconsin.”

The Clintonville factory makes paper plates, napkins, table covers and baking paper.

The company says the expansion will help it meet rising demand for paper plates, allowing the plant to double its paper plate output.

“The biggest impact of this expansion is our ability to continue growing alongside our customers,” Aaron Holt, chief financial officer at Hoffmaster, said in a statement. “Many of those customers are experiencing rapid growth, and this investment ensure we can continue supporting their needs.”

In addition to Clintonville, Hoffmaster also has a manufacturing facility and corporate offices in Oshkosh, where the company was founded in 1947.

WEDC Secretary John Miller said in a statement that the agency was “pleased to partner” with the company to drive economic development and help “ensure Wisconsin’s paper industry will hold its global lead.”
