Attempted kidnapping suspect released after posting bond
The man accused of attempted kidnapping after approaching a woman on a walking trail near Rosendale late last month is free after posting bond yesterday.
Miles Jaeger was in court for a bond hearing yesterday and in that appearance, was issued a cash bond of $200,000 which was paid to the court, allowing Jaeger to be released from custody.
Conditions of the bond are No contact w/ Victim. Jaeger can not be on the Mascoutin Trail or possess any dangerous weapons. No driving a motor vehicle and he is not to be in public without a parent present.
According to police, Jaeger approached a woman from behind on the trail Monday, June 29th, placed a cloth over her mouth and attempted to abduct her while she walked with her one year old child. The woman was able to escape and call police who identified Jaeger as the suspect and apprehended him a short time later.
Jaeger has entered a Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Disease or Defect. He’s due back in court September 17th for a status hearing.
