Fond du Lac Police Arrest Man Following Prowling Investigation

Fond du Lac Police have arrested a man in connection with a suspicious prowling incident that happened last week on the city’s southeast side.

Officers say 19-year-old Justice Butzen was taken into custody Thursday, July 30, 2026, after detectives obtained a felony bail jumping warrant.

The investigation began after a home surveillance camera captured someone approaching a residence on Rockrose Drive on July 22nd. Police say they devoted significant resources to the case because of several home burglaries and attempted break-ins reported in the neighborhood earlier this year.

After officers were unable to locate Butzen during a search warrant Thursday morning, Butzen turned himself in later that afternoon, and was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail.

Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity and keep outdoor lighting and security cameras in working order.
