Fatal crash reported in Green Lake County

One person is dead and another is seriously injured following a head-on crash Friday morning in Green Lake County.

The Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 5:10 Friday morning on State Highway 73 near County Highway X.

Deputies say a 43-year-old man was driving a minivan northbound when it collided head-on with a pickup truck.

The minivan driver was found pulseless and not breathing. Lifesaving efforts by bystanders and emergency responders were unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 36-year-old man driving the pickup was taken by ambulance to Waupun Hospital with severe injuries. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Highway 73 was closed and detoured while the crash was investigated. The highway reopened shortly before 10 Friday morning.
