David J. Sauer

David J. Sauer, 66, of Campbellsport passed away on Thursday
April 25, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 29, 1946 in West Bend the son of
Clarence and Martha Sauer. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Kilian Church
and was a 1965 graduate of Kewaskum High School. Dave served his country in the
U.S. Army from May 11, 1966 to May 11, 1968 serving 18 months in Europe as a
Spec. 4th Mechanic. He also served 2 years in the Army Reserve as a weapons man.
On Sept. 25, 1971, he married Marie F. Cartus at Holy Angels in West Bend. Dave
was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council
#1130 of Campbellsport, the VFW Post #8339 of Campbellsport, American Legion
Post #347 of Lomira, AVA Chapter #448 of Newburg, and the West Bend Moose Lodge
#1398. Dave worked at various manufacturing jobs with his last place of
employment being Mills Fleet Farm in Fond du Lac where he was maintenance man
for five years. Dave greeted most everyone he saw with a “hi or hello”.

Survivors include his son Robert of Campbellsport, his brother Dan (Sue)
Sauer of Allenton, his sister Shirley (Lester) Simon of Campbellsport, his
sister-in-law Kathy (Ron) Schlefke of Wisconsin Rapids, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his wife Marie on June 13,
2007, his parents, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Josephine and Norman
Belhing, his niece Jessica Simon Abnet and nephew Scott Schlefke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sunday April 28th at 6:00 PM at
St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate
and burial with Military Honors will be Monday at 10:30 AM in St. Kilian
Cemetery, St. Kilian, Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until time of Mass at the
