John E. Bruns
John E.
Bruns, 63, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Agnes
Hospital after his courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Sheboygan on
January 19, 1952, a son of Gilbert and Arabelle (Roehrig) Bruns.
On September
11, 1976 John Married Debra Ann Flentje at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mt.
Calvary.
John is a
1970 graduate of New Holstein High School.
He formerly was employed with St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport until
its closing and then with Wells Manufacturing.
He was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Parish and formerly of St. Louis Church. John was a Fourth Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus Council #664.
John enjoyed
watching the Packers, reading, doing puzzles and his passion was spending time
with family and friends.
He is
survived by Debra, his wife of 38 years; three children, Christina (Jeffrey)
Mand of Madison, Timothy (Bridget) Bruns of New Holstein and Alyssa Bruns of
Minneapolis; four grandchildren, Jayda and Mason Mand, Breyden and Cassandra
Niec; two sisters, Carole (Phil) Englebert of Howards Grove and Barbara (Jerry
Frank) Progar of Sheboygan; mother-in-law, Bea Mooney of Fond du Lac; three sisters-in-law,
Sandy Bruns of Kohler, Linda Borgwardt of Fond du Lac and Nancy (John) Milazo
of Waxhaw NC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding
John in death are his parents; one brother, LeRoy Bruns; fathers-in-law, Donald
Flentje and Robert Mooney.
Visitation: John’s family will receive relatives and
friends at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac on
Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM.
There is also visitation on Tuesday, March 31, at Holy Family Parish
Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du lac, from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.
Service: At 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, at
Holy Family Church, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Cremation will take place after the
services. Inurnment will be at Calvary
Cemetery.

his name may be directed to the family.
The family
is grateful to the doctors and staff at St. Agnes Hospital for the
compassionate care given to John and his family.
