Lyle John Smith

Lyle John Smith, 82, of Fond du Lac
entered eternal life on Sunday October 12, 2014 at Froedtert
Memorial Lutheran
Hospital,Milwaukee with his daughter at his side. He
was born March 13, 1932 in North Fond
du Lac, WI. the son
of John August and Lillian (Hanke) Smith. 
Lyle graduated from Fond
du Lac Senior High School.

 He
was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War.Lyle proudly
served in the 82^nd Airborne for 3 years.
He returned to Fond du Lac
and became a dedicated employee at Eden Stone Company until his
retirement. On August 18, 1956 he married Elizabeth (Betty King) Smith. He had
many hobbies including bowling, softball, hunting, gardening and watching
sporting events. Lyle especially enjoyed the many laughs shared while camping
and visiting his sister, Grace and brother-in-law Jerry. He also enjoyed many laughs
while chopping wood and deer hunting with his close friends.

 

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth
“Betty” Smith, Fond du Lac, a  son Steven (Tammy) Smith of Eden, two  daughters Suzanne (Kurt) Koenigs of  Fond du Lac and Gina (Bill Abel) of Eden; 7 grandchildren and
1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Lyle is preceded in
death by his parents, and 2 sisters Fern (Sam) Priepke and Grace (Jerome)
Zieglebauer. Private family memorial services will be held Wednesday,
October 15, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home.
