Ralph J. Lancor
Ralph
Jerome Lancor, 83, went home to the Lord on February 7th at the
Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI. Ralph was born to Robert and Gertrude
(Schreck) Lancor on
September 6th, 1934 in Chippewa Falls – the
youngest of five children. He grew up on a farm in Boyd and lived in Green Bay
for many years. He married Marion Redman on November 25th, 1978 and
they made their home in Fond du Lac where he lived for 40 years.
Ralph worked laying carpet and floor tile at HJ Martin & Sons out of Green
Bay over 40 years and enjoyed working the summers even after he retired. He was
a 50 year member of the 1146 Carpenters and Joiners Union.
He had a lifelong passion for John Deere tractors, amassing quite a collection.
He was often found at tractor or steam engine shows throughout the state. He
was always hunting for treasures at auctions or flea markets. Ralph never found
a thing he couldn’t fix and always had projects in the works. His favorite
place to be was up north at the cabin he built on Webb Lake.
Ralph was a generous man and he loved to feed people. You never left his house
hungry and he often ended the family meal prayer with, “Whoever eats the
fastest, gets the most-est”. A tradition he now passes on to his youngest
grandson Zildjan.
He never met a person he couldn’t talk to and made friends everywhere he went.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Community and attending Sacred
Heart Church. Ralph would often ride his scooter to the evening rosary. On
Saturdays he would ride to the Farmer’s Market to buy his wife flowers.
Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years; five loving children:
Lorraine Crandall, Rita Russell, Ronald Lancor, John Lancor (Laura Rusch), and
Jennifer Gillings (Ryan); five, soon to be six grandchildren; six great
grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings: Clarence Lancor,
Alice Shafer, Bernice Wellner, and Robert Lancor.
