Robert L. Ernest

Robert L. “Bob/Ernie” Ernest,
age 76, of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, July 11, 2019, at Crossroads Care
Center in Fond du Lac. He was born on September 19, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the
son of John and Rachel (Giesick) Ernest. Ernie served in the United States Navy
as a radioman from 1960-63 during the Cuban Crisis. On August 22, 1964, he
married Cecelia Michels in Fond du Lac. Ernie was an avid outdoorsman who loved
hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling and his dogs. Ernie lived life
to the fullest and was very proud of his military service.

 

Survivors include his wife,
Cecelia of Fond du Lac; two children, Dawn (Tim) Bunkelman of Fond du Lac, Robert
(Andrea) Ernest of Brandon; four grandchildren, Gary Naud of Sun Prairie, Annie
(Steven) Wagner and their children Cameron and Jackson, of St. Peter, David
Naud of Fond du Lac, Tyler Ernest of North Fond du Lac; one sister, Elsie
Kottke of Oakfield; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death
by his parents, John Ernest and Rachel Ernest Grainger, his stepfather, Ralph
Grainger; one brother, Harvey Ernest; one brother-in-law, James Kottke.

 

Visitation will take place on
Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from 3-6 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park
Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A memorial service will follow the visitation at
the funeral home at 6:00 PM. Cremation has taken place. Military graveside
honors will take place following the service at the funeral home.
