Al Buechel On Seventh Term As FDL County Executive

With all the recognition he received last year it might have been a good time for Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel to retire. Instead he recently was sworn in for his seventh consecutive four-year term as County Executive, the longest tenure for that type of office in Wisconsin. Last year Buechel was honored for his 40 years in county government first with the County Board then as County Executive. He says he realized after the position was created that he had found his niche.

Last year Buechel was also honored as a Friend of the Libraries, by the UW-Fond du Lac, as a Friend of the University of Wisconsin and received other accolades.
