Beaver Dam Bar That Opened Early Will Not Face Charges

The
Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that the Safer At Home order was
unlawful, invalid and unenforceable. Shortly after the announcement, Dodge
County Sheriff Dale Schmidt announced that his investigation into the early
opening of The 6^th Gear in Beaver Dam had been completed. 

The bar
made news when they opened for business last Saturday, May 9. Sheriff Schmidt
conducted an investigation into the alleged violation, responding to the bar
and urging social distancing, taking photos, and telling the owner that a
decision on the violation would take place following the Supreme Court ruling.
In a press release issued Wednesday evening, Schmidt said since the Supreme
Court ruled the order invalid, The 6^th Gear would also not be fined,
and the case is now closed.
