Big Brothers Big Sisters Honored For Fiftieth Anniversary

The Fond du Lac City Council recently honored Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County with a proclamation in honor of their 50th Anniversary. While receiving the proclamation for City Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan, Big Brothers Executive Director Tammy Young said they provide Bigs to Littles and much needed mentors to children. She says they are the only one-to-one mentoring program of their kind in the County. She says their goal is to match up Big Brothers, Big Sisters, couples or families with a child that needs a little extra help. She says while it’s true they always appreciate financial contributions they also need volunteers to act as Big Brothers or Sisters or to help with their school-based mentoring program. A number of Big Brothers Big Sisters Board members were also on hand for the presentation.
