Chilton Home a “Total Loss” following a Fire Tuesday Evening
A home in Chilton is a total loss after a fire Tuesday
evening. Firefighters were called to a home on south Washington Road just after
4 pm Tuesday. Fire chief Ben Schoenborn said in a news release that a lot of
hard work was put in by their department and numerous others that assisted at
the scene.
Schoenborn said a few of the firefighters looked “like
ice statues” thanks to all of the ice that accumulated because of the water used
to fight the fire. No injuries were reported, despite a few of them slipping
and falling due to the ice. He also gave thanks to local businesses for
providing food for the firefighters.
Assisting at the scene were fire departments from New
Holstein, Kiel, St. Anna, the Town of Calumet, Stockbridge, Potter, Hilbert,
the Town of Harrison, St. Cloud, Mount Calvary, St. Nazianz and Collins. Also
assisting were New Holstein First Responders, Ascension Calumet Ambulance and
the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department.
