C-Port Police Take FDL Man Into Custody Following Cycle Chase
Campbellsport Police arrested a Fond du Lac resident following a high speed motorcycle chase Saturday afternoon. Officers stopped 34-year old Emanuel M. Howard, just before 2:50 p.m. Saturday afternoon on a speeding violation. During the stop, Howard gave officers a false name, then he and his passenger took off on the motorcycle, heading south on Hwy 67 and then eventually I-41, where speeds reached in excess of 110 miles an hour.
Once the pursuit reached FDL County, Sheriffs Deputies took over until the chase was terminated once the suspect reached the FDL city limits. A deputy checking the area was able to locate the motorcycle at a residence in Fond du Lac, where Howard was arrested and subsequently turned over to the Campbellsport PD. Howard was arrested on outstanding warrants, receiving a felony charge for knowingly fleeing an officer, along with a misdemeanor charge of obstructing an officer. The pursuit lasted about 15 minutes, covering just over 20 miles.
