Demolition Of Former Wells Manufacturing Facility Moves Forward

From the outside it may not look like anything is going on, but the demolition of the former Wells Manufacturing facility on Brooke Street in Fond du Lac is moving forward. Community Development Director Wayne Rollin says weather slowed progress a bit in the past month. However the asbestos has been removed from the building and salvage and some interior demolition have occurred. A fence has been put up around the building for when the outside demolition occurs. Rollin says after the demolition the property will be turned over to Commonwealth Development for development of the property, which he says the City is excited about. Commonwealth is investing $1.8 million in the project that will allow them to convert the site into their headquarters, landscaping business, and possible restaurant and café.
