FDL City Council to Re-Start Discussions on Lakeside Park Pavilion Plans Tonight

The Fond du Lac City Council will hold a special meeting
tonight to re-start discussion on the proposed changes to the Lakeside Park Pavilion.
The preliminary design concepts were first presented to the public by the city’s
Park Board in late February, and were discussed by the council at their meeting
on February 27th. However, With new members set to join the council
in the spring election, City Manager Joe Moore says they opted to hold off on any
further talks on the pavilion until those members were in place. “With the outgoing city council they had some concerns about
the concepts, the designs we showed them and so rather than talk about that
anymore with the council that was about to go out, I decided to hold off and
then restart the conversations with the new council,” Moore said. He adds that
the plan is to get feedback from the council members and then form a new
position about the plans for the pavilion.

The special meeting tonight is at 5 pm, with
the regular council meeting to follow at 6 – both meetings are in the
legislative chambers at the City/County Government Center in Fond du Lac.
