FDL County Judge Dismisses Attempted Homicide Charge Against FDL Woman

An attempted homicide charge has been dismissed against a 28-year-old Fond du Lac woman accused of trying to give her 6-year-old daughter a lethal dose of sleeping pills. Fond du Lac County Judge Robert Wirtz last Friday dismissed the attempted 1st degree intentional homicide charge that Kenna Bowe was serving time for until this past February. Bowe successfully appealed a 14-year prison sentence she was serving after withdrawing a no contest plea. During a hearing last December a toxicology expert testified the dose of sleeping pills could not have killed the girl. She still faces a jury trial in August on a charge of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. During the same night she gave her daughter the pills her 28-year-old boyfriend awoke to find her sitting on his chest with a butcher knife pointed down at him. He suffered cuts to his hands. Bowe was upset about losing her job and believed her boyfriend was breaking up with her. The four day trial is set to begin on August 4th.
