FDL Sheriff’s Office Announces Staff Promotions

Borgen (left) and Galske (right) will be assuming new roles with the Sheriff’s Office starting January 7th.

The Fond du
Lac County Sheriffs Office is announcing a pair of staff promotions. Sheriff-elect
and current Chief Deputy Ryan Waldschmidt says Captain Kevin Galske will be
promoted to Chief Deputy/Undersheriff and Lieutenant James Borgen will be
promoted to Captain/Jail Administrator. Both promotions will take effect
January 7th – which is when outgoing Sheriff Mick Fink retires.
Galske has served as the Captain and Jail Administrator for the past 12 years,
and has a combined 26 years of experience with the Sheriff’s Office in both the
law enforcement and jail divisions. Borgen began his career as a correctional
deputy with the Sheriff’s Office in 2002, and has served as a patrol deputy, sergeant
and lieutenant – and currently serves as the assistant jail administrator. According
to Waldschmidt, additional staff changes to fill vacancies created by these
appointments will be determined through a promotional process.
