Highlights Of Annual Agri-Business Council Meeting
There were a number of highlights during the Fond du Lac Area Agri-Business Council Annual Meeting held last Friday. Carrie Mess, known as ‘Dairy Carrie’ in the world of social media, was the keynote speaker. Her message was filled with innovation and in sharing her own experiences Mess was able to instill a sense of pride and encouragement for those in attendance. Special recognition was also given to a local educator who has gone above and beyond to experience and promote agriculture in the classroom. The 2014 Teacher of the Year, Dawn Barenz, kindergarten teacher at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Mt Calvary, was celebrated for her commitment to area agriculture education. Retiring Board members were recognized for their years of service. Sarah Loehr, Forest Ridge Holsteins, received the Harold Reinecke Award commemorating her year as president of the board. John and Karen Ruedinger were honored for hosting the 2014 Breakfast on the Farm. And the Dan and Brenda Michels family were announced as hosts of the 2015 Breakfast on the Farm, to be held Sunday, June 28, 2015.
