Holiday Depression

Fond du Lac Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says the holidays aren’t a happy time for everyone. He says unfortunately they see an increase in suicide and drug overdose calls during the holidays. He recommends checking on those you care about to make sure they aren’t being overwhelmed during this time of year. He suggests reaching out and talking to them and making them feel included. O’Leary says there are so many places people can go to get help and talk to people who care about them. Chief O’Leary says in the 28 years he has been in the fire service he has yet to come across a person whose life wasn’t worth saving.
