Rock USA Death Not Suspicious
Winnebago County Sheriff’s investigators say there is nothing suspicious about the death of a Marshfield man who died after being found unresponsive in a vehicle at the Rock USA grounds. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died Thursday. The person who found him notified security at Ford Festival Park. CPR was performed until first responders arrived. An autopsy will be conducted by the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s office. The man’s name hasn’t been released.
Jury Trial Scheduled In Washington County For Attempted Homicide Suspect
The 38-year-old migrant worker suspected of stabbing a co-worker will go to trial in October. A jury trial is scheduled to begin in Washington County Court on October 17th for Roberto Castillo-Noyola. He is facing attempted homicide charges for the incident last August. Sheriff’s officials say he thought the other man had stolen beer and money from him. He grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the man multiple times. He remains in the County jail under a $50,000 cash bond.
Watertown Man Arraigned For Drug Death
The 49-year-old Watertown man accused of supplying the drugs that caused an overdose death was arraigned in Dodge County Court this week. Terence Jannke is facing felony charges for allegedly providing the heroin that killed 41-year-old Holly Nehls Memorial Day weekend. A search of his residence at the beginning of the month turned up syringes, heroin packaging, and a drug ledger. He is due back in court August 16.
Externships
The interim President and CEO for the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce says they will be trying out something different during Business, Industry & Education Day in October. Tom Herre says this year’s event will be held on October 26th. He says they will try out a new concept called “Externships.” He says that’s accomplished by pairing up a business owner with a teacher and they will get to know each other. He says that way both will learn about the challenges each faces in their profession.
Eldorado Community Picnic
Eldorado will hold its annual community picnic and parade today and tomorrow at the community park. Peggy Zickert is one of the organizers. She says it is the big fundraiser of the year for the Eldorado Lion’s Club and Eldorado Fire Department. Today there is hog wrestling and Driftwood will perform from 8 p.m. to Midnight. Sunday the Parade is at 11 a.m., there is a chicken dinner at noon and The Del Rays perform from 1 to 5 p.m. There are other activities well and plenty of food.
