Officer-Involved Shooting in Oshkosh – Update
A 28 year old man from
was killed in an officer-involved shooting early Monday morning in the City of
say Isaiah Tucker was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being shot
while trying to leave the scene of a robbery in a car. Officers were called to
a home in the 300 block of
Street
trying to steal items from the home. A short time later, a second call reported
the man had returned and was trying to steal a car. When officers returned to
the home, the car crashed through a garage door in an attempt to leave the
scene. One officer tried to remove Tucker from the car, which then accelerated
toward a second officer. The second officer opened fire on the car, hitting it
several times. Officers found the vehicle abandoned in the 800 block of
and Tucker was found hiding in a shed with gunshot wounds. Oshkosh Police Chief
Dean Smith says both officers involved were wearing body cameras, and the
footage has been turned over to the Wisconsin Department of Justice and their
Division of Criminal Investigation. Both officers have been placed on
administrative leave while the investigation by DCI continues.
