Pumpkin Thefts Victimize Young Boys

Eleven and 14-year-old boys in Dodge County’s Town of Hubbard learned Sunday afternoon that not everyone in this world is honest. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says someone stopped at W3984 County Road S between noon and 2 p.m. and stole some pumpkins that were for sale. He says about $50 worth of pumpkins and gourds were taken from a wagon. He says the boys had worked hard growing the pumpkins and gourds with a specific goal in mind. They were going to use the money for a family trip in November. The owners are asking anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office. They aren’t interested in pressing charges, just getting restitution for their sons.
