Senator Grothman Eager To Get Back To Congressional Campaign
Following the 11-county canvass of voting in the 6th Congressional District Republican primary the winner remains State Senator Glenn Grothman. Grothman had 214 more votes than State Senator Joe Leibham during the election. He picked up a few more during the canvass for a 219 vote margin of victory. Senator Leibham could still ask for a recount. In a statement Leibham said, “We appreciate the efforts of local clerks and canvass board members reviewing the vote totals. My team and I will be reviewing the official results and deciding quickly how to move forward.” Senator Grothman says he’s eager to continue his campaign for Congress. If his victory stands up he will face Democrat Mark Harris, the Winnebago County Executive, in the November 4th election.
