Sturgeon Spearing Lists Released
DNR Sturgeon Biologist Ryan Koenigs has released four different lists detailing the success of sturgeon spearers during the recent season. A total of 847 fish were taken, 54 of which weighed over 100 pounds. Gerald Peterson of Denmark (pictured) got the biggest sturgeon. It was 83.4 inches long and weighed 154.9 pounds. That just edged out the second biggest fish taken by Sandra Schumacher of Hilbert whose fish was 78.5 long and weighed 154.7 pounds. Spearers from Winnebago County harvested 218 fish followed by Fond du Lac County spearers who took 144.
