Waupun Man Bound Over For Trial On Vehicle Pursuit Charges

The 23-year-old Waupun man who dragged a Dodge County Sheriff’s lieutenant at the beginning of a vehicle chase is heading to trial. This week Matthew Ellcey waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over for trial. The lieutenant put his hand inside Ellcey’s vehicle trying to prevent him from taking off during a traffic stop on Highway 49 last month. He was treated at Waupun Memorial Hospital and released. Ellcey is scheduled for arraignment on April 26th in Dodge County Court.
